Adapt, improvise, and inspire: the foundation that has shaped the life and career of Raymond M. “Shon” Craig III.
Entering the US Army after college, Shon’s leadership and versatility skillsets were sharpened through tactical tours with US Special Forces. As a 21-year career officer, Shon honed his innovative, problem-solving abilities through numerous strategic joint missions around the world.
Turning his focus to the private sector, Shon’s entrepreneurial skills married a need with a solution, and established the first defence cooperative agreement between the United States and South Africa. Known as the “Husky”, it is the most survivable military vehicle in existence, successfully encountering more than 7,500 improvised explosive devices (IED) and landmine events.
This uniquely challenging business was tasked to address the ever-changing battlefield threat of IED’s and landmines, by delivering solutions that allow efficient, high-speed route clearance in contested environments, saving lives and shortening conflicts.
Concurrently, Shon built and operates several high-end restaurants in Charleston and Tampa. He is also a partner with a national restaurant franchise and owns restaurants in several Florida cities. Shon is a pilot and owns several amphibious airplanes, including a vintage 1946 G44 Widgeon, a US Navy anti-submarine airplane.
Our past shapes and prepares us for what lies ahead. Shon fully embraces the significance of SoilPoint’s Organic Soil Booster, its ability to reverse global GHG emissions, and its unique ability to positively impact food security, soil degradation and climate change.
