Alan is a seasoned executive with extensive board experience and P&L responsibilities, known for growing high-performance companies in the fresh food industry across the UK, Europe, and Asia. He managed over €3.2 billion in revenue for a major European fresh produce company and led strategic changes in the sector. For the past 7 years, he has chaired the UK Fresh Produce Consortium and received the Fresh Produce Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the industry.
Alan is a successful executive and director, with ample experience holding board positions and full P&L responsibilities. He has a demonstrated history of growing strong, high-performance companies. Throughout his career Alan has held senior executive positions in the UK, Europe, and Asia within the demanding fresh food industry, including retail, wholesale, and fresh distribution sectors.
He was a member of the Executive Committee for one Europe’s largest fresh produce companies managing revenue exceeding €3.2 billion. During this time, he instigated and managed diverse strategic changes supporting a rapidly evolving industry with challenging routes to market and was directly responsible for a Top-10 UK company in the fresh produce and flower sectors, generating growth organically and through M&A’s, with operational responsibility for five companies and 2,000 employees.
For the past 7 years Alan has been the Chairman of the UK Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC), the leading industry body for fresh produce and related sectors, and recently received the prestigious Fresh Produce Lifetime Achievement Award.
This award specifically recognized the voluntary work undertaken by Alan in “Giving Back” to the industry and the positive changes impacting agri-labor wages, conditions, and Fairtrade.
